**UPDATE**

A lot has happened since this event was set up: The police shut down of the XR Uprising; the push-back by XR and Greens - even the arrest of our Green Party co-leader Jonathan Bartley.

We shall go ahead with the meet-up at The Clarence, and see what's happening and reflect on the whole XR uprising and where it has taken the push for action on climate and ecological emergency.

For this month’s Thursday social Southwark Green Party is heading into central London.

Extinction Rebellion is transforming the streets of our city - and many others around the world - and  more importantly has elevated climate chaos and ecological collapse centre stage. Join us as we visit some of the sites if you are curious about XR, want to show your support, are curious to find out more or simply want see how they have converted our streets into a car-free carnival.  It will be safe and informative and you will be very welcome.

Meeting point is THE CLARENCE pub on Whitehall from 6.30. We will secure a visible spot on the ground floor for a drink and catch up before we head off from the pub at around 7.45.
