Beat the Street Activity Day

The Competition

Southwark Council is running a local competition called Beat the Street designed to encourage walking and cycling - so of course we want to take part. It runs until November 7th and involves gaining points by by tapping boxes scattered throughout Walworth, Camberwell, Peckham and a few surrounding areas.

Southwark Green Party have a team - if we manage to get to one of the top three spots, we'd win up to £300 to spend on sports equipment, which we would donate to The Spa School, a special school for children with autism, due to open in September 2019 in Camberwell.

For more information, including on how to pick up a card and how to join the Southwark Green Party team, please head here.

Activity Day

We'll be running two activities on Sunday 28th October, to gain points and to have fun out and about in Southwark.

Eleanor will be leading a children, friends and families walk through Camberwell and Burgess Park. Pick up your card from Camberwell Library and meet outside at 2.45 to leave at 3pm. RSVP to this event for details of the route or if you'd like to join along the way.

Meanwhile, Phil will be walking what is now nicknamed (by him) The Southwark Trident! A 17 mile walk that hits all 45 boxes, while exploring many of Southwark's lesser known and quieter streets. Starting from outside Camberwell Library at 10am, and probably incorporating a pub stop or two along the way, anyone is welcome to join for part or all of the journey. Follow Southwark Green Party on Twitter for updates throughout the day, and email [email protected] if you'd like to be added to a WhatsApp group where the live location will be shared.
